Mosquitos + Rain = Science!

Researchers at the Georgia institute of technology found the reason to why Mosquitos can fly in the rain. A mosquito's mass is actually 50 times greater than a raindrop.Because of this, raindrops do not splash on the Mosquitos but just push them away.

I don't really know why I found this interesting but I have always wondered wether mosquitos can fly in the rain. I always thought that Mosquitos would actually die in the rain because I thought that they would get hit hard by tue rain. Now every time that it rains in the summer I will always think about Mosquitos trying to fly in the rain

How can Mosquitos fly in the pouring rain?

  1. That's pretty interesting. It's one of those things that you never even think of until someone tells you about it. I always thought that the rain would just pelt the Mosquitos and they'd die. If only.
