Bigfoot-A world wide topic

We all know about the Sasquatch aka Bigfoot. A large hairy mythical creature about 7 feet tall weighing 300 pounds and somehow has escaped the human race from knowing they exist. But what you might not know is that in 1840 a missionary named Elkanah Walker wrote a letter depicting a race of giants who have lived in the mountains. He said that the creatures work and hunt at night and would often steal fish from nearby nets and eat them raw. When people awake, the creatures would know when they were coming using their acute sense of smell. Years later in 1884 near Yale, BC a creature was captured which many have been calling a young Bigfoot. The creature weighed about 127 pounds and stood at 4 feet 7 inches at height. But very mysteriously the creature escaped during transport.

An avid hunter and also president of the US Teddy Roosevelt believed the mythical creature. But it was in 1958 that the Sasquatch got popular. Road workers had found strange human like footprints several times and theorized that whatever made them were about 300 pounds heavy. This is when a news report on the footprints received a great amount of controversy. A creature hiding in the mountains that has avoided nearly all contact with the human race.
In 1967 the famous Patterson-Gimlim video was filmed. The video not only gave more evidence for the existence of Bigfoot but also popularized the topic more. This is how we ended up with movies, jokes, drawings, and stories about a race of creatures roaming the mountains, invisible to the human race.

Bigfoot- Patterson and Gimlins video

Bigfoot is one of the most talked about myths. Believed to be a creature weighing at 500 pounds, stands at an average of 7 feet and it's entire body coated with hair. Although with very little evidence proving it's existence, it is still been a very popular topic. In 1972, one of the most unbelievable evidence of Bigfoot was filmed. Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin were On an expedition in North California, on the search for evidence of Bigfoot. The two men were on horseback and were on the hunt for evidence. When they saw it, a tall hairy creature, they were exited. Not their horses though. The men were thrown off their horses and when on the ground, Patterson took out his camera and filmed 952 frames of what appears to be a tall ape-like animal walking away from their direction. This came to be one of the most controversial evidence ever documented in the history of Bigfoot.

It appeared to be a large animal that was walking in the same manner as humans. It's entire body was covered with black hair. When the two arrived at the creek, the creature was still but immediately turned around and started walking away at the sight of the two. This is the most significant evidence of the existence of the Sasquatch, better known as Bigfoot. The video has been up for debate whether it's evidence or a complete hoax. One part of the video shows the creature turning around. The animal has looked back and it's upper body turned around together with it's head. This is a behavior similar to apes. A regular person can turn it's neck around and not have to worry whether it would hit their shoulder. With an ape however, it's shoulders are higher than a humans' so if it were to turn around it's head, it would hit it's shoulders along the way. So the creature would've needed to turn it's body in order to look farther back. This video has been a huge controversy and will probably be one of the best evidence for the Sasquatch.

In Flanders Fields

The red poppy you always see on the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Always wonder what it means, yet still wearing it with pride. The battlefields of the wars were havoc. Guns and bombs, you would always think that nothing will ever grow in the scarred battlefield. But, the field poppy arose. And this was brought to the attention of John McCrae, a Canadian soldier who noticed the field poppies growing in the battle field. He made a poem to remember all those who fought in the war. Named "In Flanders Fields"

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

A couple years later, Moina Micheal saw this poem and made another poem, as a response to John Micheal. Entitled "We shall keep Faith"

Oh! you who sleep in Flanders Fields,
Sleep sweet - to rise anew!
We caught the torch you threw
And holding high, we keep the Faith
With All who died.

We cherish, too, the poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led;
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies,
But lends a lustre to the red
Of the flower that blooms above the dead
In Flanders Fields.

And now the Torch and Poppy Red
We wear in honor of our dead.
Fear not that ye have died for naught;
We'll teach the lesson that ye wrought
In Flanders Fields.

She said to herself that she would always were a red poppy on the eleventh day of the eleventh month to signify that she will remember those who have fallen in the war.

What is Creative Commons?

When a work is made, it is immediately protected by copyright according to law. This prevents other people from using any of your work. But, some people want other people to use their work. This is what creative commons is about. Creative commons is a free license you can put on your work to tell people to use it but with some restrictions like say they have to acknowledge you whenever they use your work. There are some other creative commons licenses that will add restriction on how you work can be used. These licenses include an option so that they can't make money off of your work. There is also a license that prevents people from altering your work and/or they have to share their new work with the same license as yours if they ever use your work. This is an alternative to the immediate copyright that is placed on your work. This allows people who want to be realized.

You can think of creative commons as an option to let people know that you want them to use their work so that they can get recognized. Creative Commons is not a rival to Copyright but rather, an alternative. Your work automatically gets protected by copyright and you can choose to leave it that way, or you can add a Creative Commons license so that you give people permission to use it but according to your preferences wether its not using it for money or not retouching it. All in all, Creative Commons is a way to get your work to be recognized when someone uses it.

And now, here are some pictures that have creative commons licenses which portray the word ********(note: the asterisks are not the exact number of letter in my word)

Mari0

I stumbled upon this game called "Not Tetris" a few months back and within the website, I found the most awesome thing. What it is is a game in development called Mari0 and it's a mash up of 2 of my favorite games. Super Mario Bros. and Portal 2. It's a game re-coded to have Portal 2 portals, and have all the levels, enemies and physics of Super Mario Bros.. To those who know a little bit more about Portal 2, there will be things like propulsion gel and faith plates. You can even play multi-player with as many people you want.Literally. You can even make your own levels with a built in level editor. An added bonus is being able to download new maps that can be themed with Portal 2 or, well, anything.

Keep in mind that this is in development, but you can see the progress of the game and try some of his other works like Not Tetris and Rimshot. And as for the legal matters, he will not charge anything for the re-makes so that he wouldn't be making money from other peoples ideas. You can find his homepage here and see for yourself.

My Understanding On How the Universe was made

The Universe is about 13 billion years old and yet no one actually knows how the universe was made. That's because no one has actually been at the beginning of time. We can theorize but we will never actually know what started the creation of the universe. But because we know that the universe is expanding, we can probably say the it once started out smaller than anything there could probably be.

What I know of is that for some unknown reason, the universe started out with a bang. A very big bang. Out of nothing, absolutely nothing, the universe came to be. It expanded from a dot as small as a quark(what atoms are made of) to something the size of the Earth in less than a second. At first, it was only matter and anti-matter. If they touch each other they will go into non-existence. After this war, matter won, and that's why were not made of anti-matter.

The only element present was hydrogen, the lightest of all the elements. But, gravity took over and the hydrogen bonded with each other and created the first stars. In the star's core, nuclear fusion is happening making heavier elements like gold and other rocks. Millions of years later, when a star dies, all the elements in it's core is ejected out into space which is what our planets are made up of. This cycle of making stars, making more elements and dying is what has made all our planets and even what your using to read this right now. So in a way, you, me, and everything is made up of star material o.O. And this cycle is still happening. Stars are born, die and make new planets and stars. So that's what has happened from the big bang, as far as I know. I could be wrong.

I don't use guns to kill zombies, I use plants!!!!

Pop cap's Plants bs. Zombies(PC and MAC)

Plants vs. Zombies was released by Pop Cap in 2009 for the PC and MAC. And has been a huge hit. With a growing fan base. It renews the tower defense genre just by using some plants and the undead in a cartoonish way. Plants vs. Zombies is tower defense game with a twist. Instead of enemies going through a path towards your base, which a typical tower defense game would be played. It instead gives you an empty lawn which you can fill up with sunflowers that produce "sun" which is like an in- game currency letting you buy more various plants like Peashooters and Walnuts that defend you lawn and you're brain.

The Good
PvZ is a fun cartoonish game filled with randomly spawned zombies for each level. Picking the right plants for the right zombies gets you through a level and earns you more plants to use in the next levels. This reward system gives players an urge to play more. The graphics are very cartoonish making a horrible zombie be appealing to a 5-year old and yet still fun for older players. It also includes a fun zen garden mode where collected plant pots in the original adventure mode are kept, watered and sold for an in-game currency in dollars.

The Bad
One thing in the PC version of PvZ was multiplayer. Even with a fun adventure mode and a huge variety of mini-games and levels, the zen garden isn'tgoing to hold up to the game. Replaying the game can be an option, but it gets a bit boring after you have collectedalltheplants in the game.

Recommendation
I would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a fun, arcade-ish lawn defense game. It took me at least 10 hours to play through the entire adventure mode and an added 5 hours for all the mini-games.a good game and a fun pastime-when your bored game when you've finished it.

A Break for Pluto

After over 76 years of being called a planet, it go demoted to a "Dwarf Planet". Although, there's another planet nearly as big as Pluto, Eris. After being discovered in 2003, Eris was thought that it was BIGGER than Pluto. But when Eris passed a star in it's 566 year orbit around the sun, it gave Astronomers a chance to measure it's diameter. Ever so surprisingly, Eris was only about 15 miles smaller then Pluto! This means that Pluto is now the biggest dwarf planet discovered.

Pluto, now being the biggest dwarf planet, is getting attention once again. Being demoted from it's "planet" status, but being promoted as king of the dwarves is giving Pluto new life. If it wasn't then Pluto would just be ignored and forgotten. Generations from now,5 year-olds are probably going to ask:"What's Pluto?, a fruit?". Even though Pluto is no longer "officially" a planet. I will still remember it a the "old" ninth planet of the solar system.

Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace!!!!

Space, a big vast nothingness in between planets. Space is just that, space. No air no nothing. Very little matter, maybe a few rocks here and there. Space is HUGE! The moon is 240,000 miles away from the Earth. That's 240,000 miles of nothing!

I for one knew this. I'm have a very good idea on how far space stretches out. Between planets, stars, galaxies and so on. If you know how fast light can travel and what time it take to travel from the sun to the earth. You would be shocked. 8 full minutes! The sun can die out instantanoulsly and we wouldn't know about it for 8 minutes.

What is space?

Mosquitos + Rain = Science!

Researchers at the Georgia institute of technology found the reason to why Mosquitos can fly in the rain. A mosquito's mass is actually 50 times greater than a raindrop.Because of this, raindrops do not splash on the Mosquitos but just push them away.

I don't really know why I found this interesting but I have always wondered wether mosquitos can fly in the rain. I always thought that Mosquitos would actually die in the rain because I thought that they would get hit hard by tue rain. Now every time that it rains in the summer I will always think about Mosquitos trying to fly in the rain

How can Mosquitos fly in the pouring rain?
